Coffs Central Display
This year, we are excited to showcase our students' exceptional work at Coffs Central, and we invite you to experience it firsthand. If you find yourself in the area, we encourage you to take a moment to visit and explore the remarkable projects and creations on display. It’s a wonderful opportunity to see the talent and creativity of our students. We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ellie (our Arts Specialist), Niki (from the school office) and all the dedicated teaching staff who have worked tirelessly with the students to bring these impressive work samples to life. Your support and guidance have made this showcase possible, and we greatly appreciate your contributions. Feel free to drop by and be inspired by their innovative work!
Preschool Visits
Year 6 students have been visiting the local preschools and reading to the children in celebration of Book Week.

Attendance Matters
On-time to school means your child is on track to unleash their potential
Arriving on time to school is a fundamental aspect of a child's educational experience and plays a crucial role in unlocking their full potential. Here are several reasons why being on time to school is important for a child's academic and personal development:
- Consistent Learning Opportunities. Being on time ensures that your child doesn't miss the beginning of lessons, announcements, or important information shared at the start of the school day. This consistency in attendance provides a steady flow of learning opportunities.
- Establishing a Routine. Timely arrival helps children establish a morning routine, promoting organisation and time management skills. Consistent routines contribute to a sense of stability and preparedness for the day's activities.
- Reduced Disruptions. Arriving on time minimises disruptions for both the child and the class. Late arrivals can interrupt the flow of lessons and can be distracting for the child and their peers.
- Building Respect for Punctuality. Punctuality is a valuable life skill. By consistently arriving on time to school, children develop a sense of responsibility.

Father’s Day Stall, Breakfast & Liturgy
Stall: Wednesday, August 28. All gifts $5 - pre-purchase via Flexischools (preferred) or cash on the day. Unfortunately we are unable to offer IOUs.
Breakfast: Friday, August 30. Families must purchase tickets ($1 per family) via Flexischools by August 27. Adults and children attending the breakfast will need a ticket. Ticketing allows us to be adequately prepared and ensures no one misses out! Thank you for your support with this.
The Parent Forum are looking for volunteers to help at the Father's Day Breakfast, please click on the link below if you are able to help out on the day.
Liturgy: Friday, August 30. All families are invited to stay after the Breakfast for the Liturgy at 9.15am which will be led by Kindergarten.
Students and families are encouraged to wear their favourite sporting jersey or team colours in support of Jersey Day, promoting organ donation.

Writing Task

Spotlight on Reading
Book Week, Fair & Parade
This week marks an exciting time in our school calendar - Book Week! Our library is brimming with a wide selection of books available for purchase, so be sure to visit and add some new titles to your home collection. Each purchase contributes to funding more books for our school library. Every little bit helps!
In celebration of Book Week, we also held a coloring competition, which saw some fantastic entries across all stages. A huge congratulations to our talented artists pictured below along with our Books & Arts Team:

Polding Athletics
Well done to all the students who participated at Diocesan Athletics this week. Congratulations to Max, Zali, Mia, Elka, Lani, Georgia, Lola and Sam who will represent the Diocese at the Polding Athletics Carnival in Newcastle on Friday, 13 September.
Elective Sports
Events have been published for Stages 2 & 3 Elective Sports (Surfing, Crossfit, Gymnastics and Tennis).
Please ensure the Event for your child has been consented to and payment made by Friday, 23 August.
Baseball and Hockey do not require consent or payment as they are being run on school grounds.
Elective Sports will run on Fridays from Week 6 until the end of Term 3.
Congratulations to Eli Franke and Luis Gibson. The school received an invitation for both boys to join the Wanderers Australia u13/14s football tour of Japan in 2025. The boys will have the opportunity to spend 18 days wearing the green and gold, playing rep teams in Tokyo, Hiroshima, regional Japan and Kyoto, seeing sights like Mt Fuji and Tokyo Disneyland and experiencing true Japanese culture and hospitality. What an opportunity!

Parent Forum Meeting
The next Parent Forum meeting will be held on Monday, 9 September at 6.30pm in the school library. There is a Zoom link below for those who are unable to attend in person.
Parent Forum AGM - Monday, 4 November
The Parent Forum at has been doing a fabulous job, especially in their fundraising efforts, which have led to improvements in both the matrix and nature playgrounds. As we approach our upcoming AGM, we are seeking individuals who are interested in taking on roles such as President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. If you are interested in becoming involved, please contact the school office by Friday 6 September.
Trivia Night - 30th Anniversary Celebration
Get ready to travel back in time as we celebrate our 30th anniversary with a spectacular 90s-themed Trivia night!
This is your chance to come together as a community for an unforgettable evening filled with laughter and nostalgia. Expect awesome prizes, a thrilling wine raffle (bring a bottle to donate!), a 90s table decorating competition, epic sing-offs, great prizes and so much more!
Tickets are now on Flexischools. Invite your friends and family—this night is open to everyone, not just school parents.
